"Many fine books have been written about the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and out aim is not to repeat breed history competently covered by others. Rather, we have set out to discover the dog itself and perhaps in so doing will provide a better understanding of the breed by owners, breeders and judges.
We are quite aware of our shortcomings, preferences and beliefs concerning the breed and expect disagreement with some of our views and findings, but if this book does nothing more than induce genuine interest, study and thought-provoking discussion, we will have achieved our purpose and will, indeed, be well satisfied.
