Max spent a lot of his time playing in the garden when he was puppy. He is 10 weeks old in this picture.

Max & Dani have never caught a butterfly
it is fun to chase butterflies
Dani is fascinated with spiders. She looks for them in the garden.
Dani lies still and watches spiders crawl along the ground......then she pounces on them
Max & Dani love to dig holes. Max likes to bury his toys and hide them around the house.

First, you gotta dig the earth out
He would often bring huge mouthfuls of earth into the house and deposit them on the floor
Then you spread it all about  !
Mmmm.... this twig is very tasty
This twig has a somewhat nutty flavour
Gardening is hard work but it has some perks too - plenty of new chew sticks (and twigs)

There used to be a lovely rose bush in this pot.
When Max was a puppy, his favourite pastime was gardening.  He loved nothing better than digging through earth, uprooting plants & trees and deflowering & dethorning rose bushes.  He would dig up bulbs and replant them in different parts of the garden.  He liked to reposition plant pots to "more suitable" locations and had a very fixed idea of what a garden should look like - the more holes the better !

Getting right in the middle of the pot speeds up the destruction process.
When it gets too hot to work, find a nice shady spot to rest a for a while
Max's favourite pot - he spent a lot of time in here surveying his handywork.
